Spread the love

Hurry and get those last minute deals…pick the perfect gift…make sure and do those end of the year reports…make those cookies…send those cards…and the list goes on and on. As I stated last week, I had a bit of the “Bah-Humbugs,” but this weekend I took time away with Eric and went to a wedding on the windy and rainy Oregon Coast. We not only had a sweet time with friends, we shared a lovely evening at a nice hotel on the water watching the waves and rain...just resting! It helped me put a lot of things into perspective.

This week, I may not get all my shopping, wrapping and baking done. I may not get any of it done, but what I am going to do is make it a priority to take time to be with people who are struggling and those whom I can help. I think that is the more valuable way to spend our time. I want to be more conscious of what I say “yes” to, and choose to say “no” the frenzied crazy-making. Yes, relationship is my driving force. It is what is most important to me. Many of my friends and family are struggling with loss of one type or another. I’m choosing to give them a gift of time this week. How about you?
