Job loss is a scary and sometimes shocking event. Recently, I was one of the many unfortunate ones in the U.S. and around the world to get a message from my boss at the school I counsel at that my job will most likely be eliminated due to budget cuts. I went through the stages of grief relatively fast, (mainly because I had a feeling this would be the case for months ahead of time). Others are not so fortunate. When the pink slip comes very unexpectedly, we are often thrown into a deep depression that can take months to recover from, resulting in time wasted that could mean financial disaster for you and your family.

In counseling with several people who are in the same position as I am now, I find the ones who come out of the blue funk fastest are the ones who have “Plan B” in the works or are able to engage in the process of finding new work quickly. I myself have my counseling practice to dive into. Actually, I face this change with great joy at the possibility of getting to counsel full time now.

If you are finding yourself in a place of an unknown future, let me help you figure out your options…your “Plan B.” Before you can get into a rut of despair I will be able to help you begin to process your strengths and optimize your possibilities. Don’t go this time alone. Let’s meet and begin working on what could be the best change you have ever experienced!
